Missing out on Street E

We’ll take a break form the usual programming and have some “personal” sharing. This is a personal blog and as some of you have hinted, how come there’s nothing personal updated.

Well, I’m down with a bad case of Conjunctivitis. It started with my right eye yesterday. It was sealed shut when I woke up. Thank God it didn’t itch or was too uncomfortable. I had sore eyes before and I was fine by the next day but my left eye was sealed shut this morning. I’m praying that both my eyes will be alright by this Sunday. I would hate to miss the Lord’s Day. I don’t believe I’ve ever miss church on a Sunday.

Brother. I was bummed out that I couldn’t join the team at St E last evening. Thank God for the 5 profession of faith. I really am both grateful and thankful to be in an evangelistic church. I thank God for His gift for evangelism as well. I enjoy telling people about what Jesus Christ has done for me. Not only are our sins forgiven and we have the promise of Heaven as our eternal home; by His Spirit, we are free from the penalty of sin, we are free from the power of sin and in His Time, we will be free from the presence of sin. Something I’d learnt from the “Life in The Spirit” class. GLCC rocks!!!!

I was talking to a brother-in-Christ about St E and all. A lot of times when trials and tribulations come our way, we “blame” the devil and his minions for our plight but the reality is most of us ignorantly and sometime willingly place ourselves in the path of the devil and we open ourselves to his attacks. I would like to believe we’re fighting our “old man” more than the devil in our daily lives. Paul shared with us in Romans 7:13-25 the battle between the “old man” within us. It is Romans 8:2 that we find the victory. “For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has made me free from the law of sin and death.”

St E takes the battle to a whole new level. It’s without a doubt the battle is spiritual. We’re basically entering into enemy’s territory and literally snatch souls from the evil one. That’s why it’s imperative that all soul winners walk right and strong in the Lord. There’s got to be nothing between us and our Savior. We have to know our position in Christ and be in constant communion with Him. As our Lord Himself said in Matthew 12:29 and Mark 3:27, “No one can enter a strong man’s house and plunder his goods, unless he first binds the strong man. And then he will plunder his house.” Mark 3:27

In the above one verse parable, Jesus likens Satan to a strong man who seeks to control our families, friends, joy, health and blessings. Before we can wrestle with the devil, he has to be bound and the binding of the strong man can only be accomplished by prayer and prayer alone.

I pray all of us will remember to uphold everyone in prayer and together, we will continue to storm the gates of hell!!!

I’m very blessed to be able to labor together with a couple of like-minded and committed folks. My best bud, Kim Cheong and Hwee Min, his lovely and patient wife comes to mind. Not forgetting Ian, Daphne – see I remembered you, Annie, Teresa, Abigail, James, Eric, Jeremy, and many others.

You guys rock but Christ is my only ROCK!!!!
